Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and his Cabinet was sworn in at a ceremony held at the Istana on 1st October 2015. President Tony Tan and Prime Minister Lee delivered their speeches before and after the swearing in, respectively. SMU Behavioural Sciences Institute director Professor David Chan, who was an invited guest at the ceremony, welcomed Prime Minister's remarks on the need for coordinating ministers. Professor Chan noted that the real issues faced by people and society are multifaceted and not neatly categorised into separate agencies. He added that good coordination should lead to better policies that improve Singaporeans' lives.
