Singapore’s smart nation movement was discussed among top policymakers and researchers at the inaugural Singapore Scientific Conference (SSC) 2015, held over 16-17 September 2015. The conference was jointly organised by A*STAR, NUS, NTU, SMU, and SUTD, as part of the nationwide Science@50 initiative to mark 50 years of excellence in science on the nation’s golden jubilee. At one of the keynote sessions, SMU Behavioural Sciences Institute Director Professor David Chan discussed futures thinking for researchers on issues of population, urban solutions, and liveability in Singapore.
