SMU Behavioural Sciences Institute Director Professor David Chan was one of the distinguished panellists in the inaugural Leaders in Science Forum held at the Fusionpolis Research Hub to discuss research, innovation, creativity and enterprise in Singapore and their relationships with education and public policy. The other panellists were Professor Tan Eng Chye, Deputy President (Academic Affairs) and Provost of the National University of Singapore, Professor Freddy Boey, Deputy President and Provost of the Nanyang Technological University, Professor Lui Pao Chuen, Advisor to the National Research Foundation, and Mr William Saito, Special Advisor at the Cabinet Office of Japan. [Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean, who was the Guest of Honour at the event, spoke on the need for stronger partnerships in research and development and innovation to help Singapore capture new growth opportunities and develop new solutions.
