Survey: More Singaporeans are gambling

SMU Behavioural Sciences Institute Director Professor David Chan, who is a member of National Council on Problem Gambling, commented on the survey findings from the latest survey on gambling prevalence released by the Council. He said that survey found that the rise in gambling participation from 2014 to 2017 was mainly due to rise in gambling in 4D, Toto and social gambling. He also noted that while the probable pathological and problem gambling rate remained stable, it is still a cause for concern especially when these gamblers tend to have poorer self-control in gambling.
