Report on BSI Conference 2021

The BSI Conference 2021 on "Dealing with Disagreements", held virtually on 1st December 2021, was attended by participants from academia and the public, private and people sectors. Conference Presentations and Panel Discussions

  • Keynote Panel: Dealing with Disagreements

    Professor Tommy Koh and Professor David Chan shared their views on the science and art of disagreeing and how Singapore can do better amid the various challenges and opportunities, followed by a panel discussion moderated by Mr Han Fook Kwang.
  • Panel 2: Resolving Disagreements

    Professor Lim Soo Ping and Dr Jeremy Lim shared their views on resolving disagreements in issues involving values, conflicts and migrant workers, followed by a panel discussion moderated by Professor Tan Sor Hoon.
  • Panel 3: Social Networks and Identities

    Associate Professor Vincent Chua and Associate Professor Cheng Chi-Ying shared their views on how disagreements are affected by social networks and social identities, followed by a panel discussion moderated by Dr Mathew Mathews.
  • Closing Panel Discussion

    Professor Tan Tai Yong, Mr Zakir Hussain, Dr Kanwaljit Soin and Associate Professor Walter Theseira shared their views on various practical issues in dealing with disagreements in Singapore, at the closing panel discussion moderated by Professor David Chan.
