Professor David Chan has been reappointed as a member of the Social Science Research Council (SSRC) for a two-year term from January 2022. The SSRC was established to promote research and scholarship that meets key challenges in Singapore and in the region, strengthen the network of researchers and policymakers, and develop programmes to help nurture local talent in the social sciences and humanities fields. Members of the SSRC are appointed by Senior Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam.

Kenneth Tan, Assistant Professor of Psychology at SMU, presented a webinar titled “Awareness of attachment security: The self-regulation of attachment styles”. He discussed how people’s attachment security and self-regulatory processes may influence attachment style in close relationships.

Brandon Koh, Assistant Professor of Psychology at SUSS, presented a webinar titled "Is busyness good or bad for you?". He discussed busyness as an individuals’ self-regulated affective state and how busyness and anticipated workload may interact to influence cognitive performance.
