PROFESSOR ARNOUD DE MEYER
President
Singapore Management University

Professor Arnoud De Meyer is President of the Singapore Management University. He has a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, MBA and PhD in Management from the University of Ghent in Belgium. Previously, he was Director of Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge. He has held various senior positions at INSEAD including the founding Dean of INSEAD’s Asia Campus in Singapore. He publishes widely in academic journals and books. He has consulted for organisations in Europe and Asia and serves as board member for various organisations in Singapore.


Mr PETER HO
Senior Advisor, Centre for Strategic Futures
Prime Minister’s Office

Mr Peter Ho is Senior Advisor to the Centre for Strategic Futures, a Senior Fellow in the Civil Service College, and a Visiting Fellow at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy. He is Chairman of various national councils, steering committees and organisations including the Urban Redevelopment Authority and chairs the Social Science Research Council. Before retiring from the Singapore Administrative Service in 2010, he was Head of the Civil Service and also served as permanent secretary of various ministries including Defence, Foreign Affairs and National Security and Intelligence Coordination at the Prime Minister’s Office.


PROFESSOR DAVID CHAN

Professor David Chan is Professor of Psychology & Director of the Behavioural Sciences Institute at the Singapore Management University and Adjunct Principal Scientist at A*STAR. He is recipient of numerous international scholarly awards and national public service awards. He is the first scientist in the world to receive Elected Fellow status from all six major international organisations for psychologists. His works have been cited over 4000 times in various disciplines. He is Chairman, advisor, consultant or board member to various organisations in the public, private and people sectors both locally and internationally.


Mrs MILDRED TAN

Mrs Mildred Tan is Managing Director of Ernst & Young Advisory Pte Ltd. She has more than 30 years of experience in business management and advisory. She serves on numerous national councils, committees and boards of directors. She is currently Chairperson of the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre and the International Advisory Panel to the Public Service Division. She was a Nominated Member of Parliament from 2009 to 2011 and she was appointed as a Justice of the Peace in 2008. She is a recipient of the Public Service Medal and the Public Service Star award for her contributions in public service and community work.


Mr LAURENCE LIEN
Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Asia Philanthropy Circle
Chairman, Lien Foundation

Mr Laurence Lien is Co-Founder & CEO of the Asia Philanthropy Circle, and Chairman of the Lien Foundation and the Community Foundation of Singapore. He was CEO of National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre from 2008 to 2014 and a Nominated Member of Parliament from 2012 to 2014. Prior to his work in the non-profit sector, he served 14 years in the Singapore Administrative Service in various positions in the Ministries of Community Development, Youth and Sports, Finance, Home Affairs and Education.

Soin Orthopaedic, Spine & Hand Surgery Pte Ltd

Dr Kanwaljit Soin is a Consultant Orthopaedic & Hand Surgeon in private practice. She was President of the Hand Society and the Singapore Orthopaedic Association. She has founded and held various leadership positions in numerous welfare, advocacy and professional organisations. She was a Nominated Member of Parliament from 1992 to 1996. She has received numerous awards for significant contributions in her profession as well as advocacy and volunteer work. In 2014 she was inducted into the Singapore Women’s Hall of Fame.


Mr ZAINUL ABIDIN RASHEED
Singapore’s Non-Resident Ambassador to the State of Kuwait
Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Mr Zainul Abidin Rasheed is currently the Singapore’s non-resident Ambassador to the State of Kuwait and the Foreign Minister’s Special Envoy to the Middle East. He was a Member of Parliament, the Mayor of the Northeast Community Development Council and Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. Prior to entering politics, he was Editor of Berita Harian, Editor of The Sunday Times, President of the Singapore Islamic Religious Council and CEO of the Council for the Development of Singapore Muslim Community.


Ms CHUA MUI HOONG

Ms Chua Mui Hoong is Opinion Editor at The Straits Times. She has a Bachelor degree in English literature from Cambridge University and a Master degree in Public Administration from Harvard University. She is author of two books “Pioneers Once More: A History of the Singapore Public Service 1959 to 2009” and “A Defining Moment: How Singapore beat SARS” and co-author of the book “Hard Truths to Keep Singapore Going”, which is based on interviews with the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew.

Mr Tan Kian Hoon is Managing Director of Suntec Real Estate Consultants Pte Ltd. He is a Fellow and Council Member of the Association of Property and Facility Managers. He has served on numerous national committees and he is Chairman of the National Crime Prevention Council and the National Council of Problem Gambling. He is also a Justice of the Peace. He is a recipient of the Public Service Medal and the Public Service Star award for his contributions in public service and community work.


Ms DEBRA SOON
Chief Customer Officer and Head, English Audience Segment
MediaCorp Pte Ltd

Ms Debra Soon is the Chief Customer Officer at MediaCorp Pte Ltd and she is responsible for its entertainment product offerings in English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil. She is also MediaCorp’s Head, English Audience Segment. She started her journalism career as a broadcast journalist and became Chief Editor of MediaCorp News, and then Managing Director of Channel NewsAsia. She has served on various national councils and committees. She is currently an executive member of the Singapore Committee for United Nation Women.


PROFESSOR LIM SOO PING
Professor of Accounting (Practice)
Singapore Management University

Professor Lim Soo Ping is Professor of Accounting (Practice) at the Singapore Management University. He has served for close to 40 years in the Singapore Public Service in various positions in different ministries including the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of National Development and the Prime Minister’s Office. He was Singapore’s third Auditor-General and he set up the AGO Academy to enhance the training of public sector auditors. He was also a founding member of the ASEAN Supreme Audit Institutions.


Mr CHRISTOPHER TAN
Senior Transport Correspondent, The Straits Times

Mr Christopher Tan is currently Senior Transport Correspondent at The Straits Times, and he has been a journalist with the Singapore Press Holdings for more than 30 years. He is also the Consulting Editor for Torque, which is a monthly motoring magazine. He has a Master of Science in Urban Transport Management from the Singapore Institute of Management University (UniSIM), which is a predecessor of the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS). In 2016, he was named Journalist of the Year.

Oliver Wyman

Dr Jeremy Lim is Partner and Head, Health & Life Sciences Practice, Asia Pacific at Oliver Wyman. He has held different senior executive positions in both the public and private sector organisations. He is a medical doctor by training and he has a Master degree in Medicine (Surgery) from the National University of Singapore and a Master degree in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. He is author of the book “Myth or Magic: The Singapore Healthcare System”.


PROFESSOR LIM EE PENG
Professor of Information Systems
Singapore Management University
Professor Lim Ee Peng is Professor of Information Systems at the Singapore Management University and Co-Director of the Living Analytics Research Centre jointly established by the Singapore Management University and Carnegie Mellon University. His research interests include social informatics and analytics, web data mining and knowledge discovery, digital libraries and information integration. He is an Associate Editor of several international journals, and he has also served on steering committees of various international conferences in these areas.
