SMU Behavioural Sciences Institute Director Professor David Chan commented on the recently-released Gallup ranking of countries on positive emotions which showed Singapore's ranking jumped from last among 140 countries in 2011 to being in top half worldwide in 2012. He noted that the Gallup's methodology and interpretation for the rankings are flawed and confuse emotional intensity and emotional well-being.
