- In view of the COVID-19 situation in Singapore, we have postponed BSI Conference 2020 (scheduled to be held on 7 April) to a later date. We are working with the hotel and all speakers on a new date and will announce (and also get back to all registered participants) once confirmed.
- BSI Director Professor David Chan has been reappointed as a member of the Social Science Research Council (SSRC) for a two-year term from January 2020. The SSRC was established to promote research and scholarship that meets key challenges in Singapore and in the region, strengthen the network of researchers and policymakers, and develop programmes to help nurture local talent in the social sciences and humanities fields. Members of the SSRC are appointed by Senior Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam.

In this section on Insights and Applications from Behavioural Sciences, we feature three invited commentaries by Professor David Chan in which he discussed the impact of COVID-19 and the importance of psychological defence. The commentaries were shared in the week after Singapore raised the DORSCON level to orange.
